Dr. Byington is a Texas native and a graduate of North Mesquite High School. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and completed her pediatric residency at Children's Medical Center of Dallas. Upon graduating from residency, Dr. Byington was the recipient of the Greater Dallas Pediatric Society "White Hat Award", an honor awarded by her medical colleagues who were asked to choose a pediatrician using the criteria of "whom they would choose for their own children."

Dr. Byington is a mother of three children between the ages of 8 and 11. She is involved in the community as a Girl Scout leader and member of various Crandall ISD committees. Dr. Byington and her family have lived locally for eleven years.
